Latchingdon
is a fantastic place to live. We have the beauty
of rural Essex in the centre of the Dengie Peninsula,
nestled between the river
Blackwater and Crouch, with a seemingly unique
micro-climate. The ancient river communities of
Maldon and Burham are just a few miles away, and
the county town of Chelmsford is just 30mins away
by car.
The Latchingdon Residents Association is a
self-appointed group of like-minded neighbours who
have been working together to ensure that the
residents of Latchingdon, Purleigh and the
surrounding parishes can co-exist in harmony
with the local businesses. We actively
promote local business, and believe that it enhances our lives here in rural Essex.
In the main, we all have a happy life here, but
one or two companies in the area consistently
breach local authority regulations, environmental
agency rules and guidelines and make our (and
perhaps your) lives unbearable at times.
But that's not just what we are
about.
This website has been put
together to allow everyone in the local area to share
their thoughts, ideas and recommendations to their
neighbours.
Our charter is as follows;
-
To Promote the local
businesses of Latchingdon, Cold Norton,
Purleigh and Mundon.
-
To Ensure that local
businesses adhere to local bylaws, regulations
and are properly licensed by appropriate
governing bodies.
-
To provide an
'interface' between the Parish and District
Councils and the local residents.
We invite you to visit our
online forum, and join in with the discussions
relevant to your local community.
